Melville Junior Football Club

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

For those who don’t know me, my name is Clint Davies, a local Melville resident

that has resided in Myaree in the same street for the last 41 years. From a young

age, I have been actively involved in various sports in the Melville area such as

Football, Tee Ball, Baseball and Tennis.

 

I started my football journey at MJFC later travelling to the country to play for

Cervantes Football Club where I have continued to play on and off until recently

retiring to focus on Junior Sports. Throughout my career, I was fortunate enough

to win 4 flags at Cervantes, 1 in the league team and the others in reserves.

 

The relationships I have built throughout my time have truly outweighed the

success on the field! Packing my wife, 3 kids and nana into the car, driving for

2 1/2 hours each way just to kick a footy - goes to show my love for this great

game. It’s here I learnt how community is the backbone of a successful club.

 

I have two sons that play for Melville, Linken 12 and Hunter 8. Last year Linken played his 50th game for Melville and also did a stint up at Cervantes. Hunter is going into year 3 footy this year. My family business is also in the area and will have been established for 50 years next year. We have been sponsors of the MJFC for a few years now and will continue to do so.

 

This will be my third year as a coach for Melville Junior Football Club and I’m currently sitting my level 2 AFL coaching course. I have thoroughly enjoyed my coaching and I’m always looking for ways to improve myself, share knowledge and develop kids’ skills, behaviours in what is a fun inclusive environment. I’ve had some great club support along the way from the coaches, parents and kids which only emphasises the strength in our great community.

 

 My aim as president is a ‘kids first’ approach first and foremost. Build an even greater community that everyone is welcome and can enjoy. We currently have 18 teams that includes 3 girls’ teams which we intend to grow into our future. With the brand-new Clubrooms and facilities soon to be unveiled, we are ensuring the future of our club is a strong one and I am excited to see the start of the 2025 season at the Mighty Melville Hawks

Continuing the club's stance, I will ensure that the Melville Hawks Junior Footy Club community is a safe inclusive environment, encouraging our kids to strive to be the best that they can possibly be on and off the field. I am proud to be involved in the leadership group of this brilliant club and I'm super keen to get the 2025 season underway!
